Dessie Meltzer, APRN-C was born and raised in the Midwest but moved to Sunny Florida years ago. She attended the University of South Florida for her Bachelor’s in nursing. After working in a hospital setting in Research, Medical and Coronary Intensive Care units, Dessie went back to school to complete her Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Dessie is also a Certified Medical Examiner for DOT. She has worked in Internal Medicine Private Practice for the last 15 years. She enjoys the dynamics of interacting with each patient as an individual and empowering them and their family about their personal health. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a patient smile after being treated successfully. The “thank yous”, she receives from her patients is her reward. Dessie and her husband found their dream property and decided to build their home. Moving to Alachua County allows them to follow their dream of living in the country and treating patients who may not otherwise be able to get health care.
